Following are a selection of quotes from Susan’s How to Work a Room workshop,
held at Bloomberg’s London office, July 2013
Very good speaker. Great development and positive atmosphere.
Masterly delivery! Excellent interactivity, fun and educational seminar. Thoroughly enjoyed the
session and pleased that the 7% myth was dispelled with professionalism. - Veronica Broomes,

Training Ltd
Fantastic. Very practical advice that I can use. Love the hard book too. Great speaker. One of
the best PEPs this year I think.
Fantastic speaker. Vvery knowledgeable and charismatic. Event exceeded expectations. -
Nicola O'Brien, RSA
This was the best PEP I have been to this year. I think it would have been good to have a
longer session!
Amazing venue! Susan clearly knows her stuff, demonstrated by the way she presented without
using any prompts or reading from slides.
Excellent speaker! Great insights and most enjoyable evening.
What an inspiration. I wish we had more time. - Sharifa Sardal, Bloomberg
Great use of time, even though it must be difficult to convey the key messages in such limited
time. I needed to hear everything that Susan said. I know that this will help me as much in my
career as in my social
life. Thank you so much. - Hannah Short, Bloomberg
Thank again so much for the brilliant session on Tuesday night. Everyone has been raving
about the event--even members from our NY office saying they wish they could have attended!
Thank you for making it so interactive and relatable.

Our Speed Networking program (an extract from the Management Consultants'
Association newsletter (May 05):
Young MCA event hailed a success
Around 90 young consultants from MCA member firms gathered at the BT Tower on Thursday
5 May for a hugely successful launch event of the ‘Young MCA’. Over 150 people had to be
turned away due to the restriction on numbers.
The evening kicked off with a seminar ‘How to work a room’ presented by international guest
speaker, Susan Croft, which focused on the key networking skills of a social business event.
The seminar was followed by a ‘speed networking’ drinks reception!
The event was hosted by BT Consulting and Systems Integration at the magnificent BT Tower
in London, with the guest speaker sponsore d by Atos Consulting. The Young MCA group is
managed by a steering group of member firms (including Accenture, Atos Consulting, B
T Consulting & Systems Integration & Deloitte Touche.)
I can't thank you enough for your wonderful seminar last night. I did not speak to one person
who didn't enjoy the event. It was superb.
Thank you again and I hope we can work together again in the future.

made a valuable contribution to UCL's staff training and development programme. Susan's
media skills workshop is very popular and we have had excellent feedback from senior

"Susan Croft has been a trainer for the London School of PR since its inception in 1992. She is
also on our Advisory Board. Susan is very knowledgeable in the public relations field and has
a wealth of experience in all areas of the function. She is also an excellent trainer and always
keeps our students interested and engaged at the end of a hard day at work. Quite a feat for
even the best of trainers!"
John Dalton

"Susan had a very positive influence on how I present our company's services on the phone.
She guided me on how to structure the phone calls to achieve a specified objective, whether it
be to get an appointment with a prospect or close a deal. In the time that we spent together I
made five calls to prospects - and got five meetings in the diary. I also closed one deal with a
major new client that very same day."

“I have worked with Susan for several years and have been impressed with her consistently
professional approach. The “How to Work a Room” seminar is an extremely popular event with
London Chamber members and therefore has become a regular function in the Chamber’s
events’ calendar held 4 times a year.
“At a recent seminar, guests were invited to complete evaluation forms on the program and
Susan’s results showed that 100% of attendees (made up of people from all professional
service sectors), found their objectives for attending had been met or exceeded.
“Many of the new bookings we receive come from word-of-mouth recommendations from past
attendees.”

It is a pleasure to comment on your charming manner and the ease with which you introduced
and delivered your seminar on Networking, thus making it an informative and enjoyable
experience for all. The Business Development Unit has had very favorable reviews. We did
not have evaluation forms at that event. However, people took the initiative to send me emails
and letters saying thank you to me for organising the event and how wonderful they found the
experience and how useful the information you supplied. (How to Work a Room)

"I have worked with Susan Croft on a client basis for over 20 years and have always found her
most professional and knowledgeable in her counsel and approach. There is very little she
does not know about public relations and marketing communications generally. She is also a
first-class trainer and I would recommend her company to anyone looking to develop skills in
those areas in which she specializes."
Ron Posner
Chairman, PS Capital

“Susan created a structured open forum and was encouraging and supportive. The afternoon
was interactive which was welcomed and Susan responded well to individual concerns as the
learning progressed, as well as keeping covering a lot of ground at a pace which felt
comfortable for the group. There were some really useful pointers with a thorough coverage of
most areas of networking (as well as a useful handout which we’ll use as summary prompt for
preparation in future).”
