CONNY CZYMOCH
ASC’s GERMAN PARTNER
COLOGNE

A journalist by heart all her working life, Conny has shifted
emphasis to being a journalistically founded presenter during the
last decade, as well as an executive coach.

Whether it is in the role as one of four anchor people of the top
news programme at PHOENIX, a non-commercial German-wide TV
channel specialising in political and economic affairs (comparable
to C-Span network in the US), or in contributing to a congresses´
success by driving the subject at hand (and sometimes the fuzzy-
talkers, too), Conny believes in the combination of thorough
preparation, tough questioning and charming handling of round
table discussions and panels.

In her congress- and conference moderations, as well as in
chairing she specialises in the art of making  complex topics seem
easily understandable.
Themes range from general economic issues and management
topics to the IT and telecommunications world, as well as those of
the space and aeronautics industries,  print, machine building and
automobile.

For SAP, she hosted TV shows and webcasts from the year 2000
on. (Sapphire 2000 in Berlin, Sapphire 2001 in Lisbon, diverse E-
business summits in Walldorf, webcasts on anything ranging from
customer relationship management to Supply Chain and Supplier
Relationship management.)

A regular moderator/presenter at CeBIT, she has worked
extensively for Deutsche Telekom, Microsoft, BMW, DASA/Astrium
and as well as for the German Federal Ministry of Education and
Research and the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and
Development.
International Congresses were the October 1997 “World Congress
on Intelligent Transport Systems” in Berlin, organised by ERTICO,
Brussels, as well as the 1998 FISITA World Congress in Paris.
Following on, the 25-Year-Jubilee of the GTZ, Germany´s
technical development agency, with Nelson Mandela;   the event
“Return of the Space Lab” in Bremen with Chancellor Schröder;
“Space Day” and the Jubilee event of the European Astronaut
Centre near Cologne.
Recent (2003)  highlights include the “International Human Rights
Award” given to the Arusha tribunal ICTR in May 2003, in Berlin,
the panel on “Water – an explosive mixture” at the International
Day of the United Nations, in Bonn,  and the Conference “Women
in Industrial Research”, a two day event co-hosted  by the EU
Commission, and the German Ministry of Education and Research.

Conny has also hosted several award-giving ceremonies  – eg.
the BMW “Scientific Award”, the Siemens “Top Plus Award of
Exellence”, the MTU Best Practice and Best Employee Award; the
Carl Zeiss Innovation Award.

Having started off as a coach for young journalists in the field of
interview-techniques and presentation, Conny has also become a
media trainer for managers in recent years.
Her experience as an active journalist and an active conference
moderator are a core asset in guiding executives, senior
managers, and other spokespeople to achieve better results in
presenting themselves to the press and to the public.

While providing the general framework of the workings of the
press, the role of statements and interviews, emphasis is put on
constant practical challenges and the analysis of the filmed results.

Conny works in both her native German as well as in English, in
which she is fluent.
She has a practical base in French, rudimentary Italian and loves
showing off her three Chinese sentences (two in Putonghua, one
in Cantonese).

ONE WOMAN -  THREE PLAYING FIELDS:

•  JOURNALISM
•  PRESENTING / FACILITATING
•  COACHING

JOURNALISM:

Moderation / Anchor of the daily news and current affairs summary
programmes “THE DAY” for
Phoenix,  public tv – ARD & ZDF coordinated, based in Bonn
(Phoenix´ US equivalent is C-Span)
Topics: current affairs in politics and economics; regular studio
and interviews with politicians, managers, economists, scientists,
commentators, and experts of all kinds

PRESENTING / FACILITATING:

- CC moderates/presents at national and international congresses
and events for federal ministries, EU, businesses, and
associations;
- CC chairs round table discussions on a wide range of issues,
(eg: space and aeronautics industry, software applications and IT
development  in general, the position of women in industry and
society)
- CC facilitates internal company meetings – such as top
management meetings, as well as sales conferences, etc.
- CC hosts fireplace talks with company experts and customers

As moderator, Conny's charming personality, wit and wisdom
captivate the audience and her interaction with them provides
relaxed and constructive question and answer sessions.

COACHING:

•        “Meet the Press”  -  or: How to handle interviews with TV,
radio and print journalists and present yourself and your company
in the best possible fashion
One or two-day training sessions aimed at individuals or group
coachings for business management and speakers of
associations.
Clients: LTU top management; e-plus G.M., communication
department; Ruhrgas AG, high potentials; Kassenärztliche
Vereinigung Bayerns,  chairman and media spokesman, Juniper,
technical director Germany )

•  How to present at company and customer congresses
Clients: Sage KHK, Linde AG.

•  How to get the most out of your interview partners -
One or two-day training sessions targeted at groups of young
journalists (in cooperation with the Bavarian Press Academy)

•  How to be a moderator: bring about results in internal
roundtable discussions and present them to an audience
afterwards.
Half a day training developed for the regular senior and executive
management meeting of a large German transport service
provider – where the GM was fed up with few working results and
poor presentations of these. With meta-plan and mind-mapping,
and a decent presentation technique, the top exec meetings
became more efficient and more effective.
