Joan Lowery, M.Ed.
Lowery Communications
Joan Lowery is our partner on the East Coast of the United States and is an
experienced media trainer. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and has
more than 20 years experience working as a professional communicator both
nationally and internationally. Her work spans the fields of training,
organizational development, program design, broadcast and print journalism,
publishing, acting and counseling.
Joan specializes in several areas of communication skills training, including
media training, crisis communications, executive coaching, high impact
communication skills, management coaching and team building, culture change
seminars and career transition planning. Many of her seminars and coaching
sessions include video feedback as an integral part of the learning process.
Joan’s background includes more than twelve years as an award-winning talk
show host/producer, a news reporter for radio, television and print media and
most recently, as an author. She’s worked for KTVU-TV (Oakland), Associated
Press Radio Network, Cable News Network, KCSM-TV (PBS affiliate in San
Mateo, CA), WQSA-AM Radio, WZ 1280-AM Radio and Storer Cable Television
(Sarasota, Florida). Her book, CultureShift, A Leader’s Guide to Managing
Change in Health Care, was recently published by American Hospital Press, Inc.
Joan also has hosted numerous satellite broadcasts for Computerland’s
television network (CLTV), as well as Apple TV (Apple Computers). Additionally,
she has produced and written award-winning news features for programs
appearing on CNBC Network, The Discovery Channel and Special Reports
Television (hosted by Joan Lunden).
Joan has worked extensively in the high technology, healthcare, financial
services and broadcasting industries. Some of her clients include: Intel
Corporation, Electronic Arts, Applied Materials, Sony Corporation, Fujitsu, Philips
Multimedia, Apple Computers, Infinium Labs Corporation, NEC, Compaq, Charles
Schwab, First Interstate Bank, Home Federal Savings and Loan, The American
Academy of Ophthalmology, Republic Health Corporation, Kaiser Permanente
Medical Center, Alta Bates Medical Center, Berlex Corporation and the American
College of Physician Executives.
She has consulted to numerous Fortune 500 companies. Her experience
includes one-on-one coaching, facilitation of small groups and lectures for
audiences of up to 500 people.
